(That's why Ascension works pretty well.)īut again, I'm probably the least experienced and knowledgeable player in here. Then the Nightblade tree provides a lot of acid and poison damage - the more damage you inflict, the better you stay alive. I don't have enough experience on a Necromancer -my pet toon is currently on hold at level 21, so only just saw the sun rising in Cairn- my character stays alive by maxing Righteous Fervor, Ascension, the Avatars, and the entire trees behind them. It happened to one of the two friends I talked into GD (Necromancer/Occultist pet build), but we got him into Ultimate and he's gearing up there and transitioning into endgame.Įdit: looked at your GT profile. I guess that's especially when you play a build that's very powerful at the beginning: when incoming damage starts to go up significantly and your resists and armor haven't kept up - you haven't had the chance nor felt any need to gear up before because you smashed their faces in anyway- well, you go splat. That said, a lot of potential builds seem to have a 'power trough' in late Elite. An Inquisitor, say, or a Soldier has better options, which of course might come at a price in DPS. I picked two classes that do not have direct damage mitigation options, no inherent 'tankiness', if you will. I only just started partying and therefore only have one character at 100 -she's a Nightblade/Oathkeeper (so, Dervish), and since I tried to build her up to essentially a GD equivalent of my D3 Barb main (various builds, obviously, but always life-steal, mostly Rend) I ran into the same 'problem'. Tanky behemoths and even the swamp golems are generally wrecking me- damage is too spiky for the life steal to keep up.ġ) I have spread points too thin and try to do too many things (I always do)Ģ) This underlying classes (should have been deathknight?) may not have the defensive abilities to reliably face tankĪny thoughts would be appreciated! (I realize aug/components are not where they should be, but I still think the build has some fundamental problems that those won't single-handedly overcome.) Cheers! Eventually I realized that phys to vit conversion was only going to hit around 50-60%, so I switched to vit weapons and shields. The idea behind the character was to be a tanky life steal based 1h/shield auto attacker using vit damage. I have shelved him for the time being and am leveling up one of Maya's builds in the mean time. I have cleared A4 Elite, and got stuck in the void after Udenbog. I just theory crafted him from skill descriptors and didn't look at builds. Hi all, this is my first real character in grim dawn.
